Welcome to
The
club was founded in 1947 by Nora and Harold Toon. Both were keen bowls
players so the Bridge Club has always used Blaby Bowling Club as its
premises apart from the summer months when bowls takes precedence.
Club
night is Tuesday when we play a duplicate session. Our aim is to provide
a friendly environment for our game of bridge. We are affiliated to the
EBU so we award Master points for each session.

are always welcome when partnering a member BUT a Pair of Visitors should
contact us rather turning up
un-announced as they may be turned away if the venue is full.

Table money for our Tuesday evening duplicate
sessions at Blaby Bowling Club is £1.50 for club
members and £2.00p for visitors. This includes a cup of tea or coffee
and biscuits half way through the evening.
Our club membership fee is £6 per year. We hope
you will want to join us as a full member of the club.
Club membership
entitles you to take part in various competitions. We have three club
trophies:
The
‘Club Cup’ is awarded annually to the pair with the three best
results out of six designated Tuesday duplicate sessions during our season
at the Bowling club.
The
‘Toon Cup’ is awarded to the pair with the most improved results
compared with the previous season’s results for the duplicate
sessions during the year.
The ‘Summer Tankard’
is a handicapped team competition organised at the end of our summer session.
We run three
teams in the Leicestershire Contract Bridge Association League in Divisions
1, 3 & 4.
We usually run qualifying
rounds for other LCBA competitions such as the
Gimson Trophy pairs and the Josephs Bowl teams events. We also take part
in the David Boston Simultaneous Pairs with the proceeds going to the LOROS
Charity
