Mike West) beat Westcotes (Thompson, Lord, Davis & Myles) by
300 points (without handicap) to go into Round 2 where they have
a bye through to Quarter-Finals

members attended the 62nd AGM of the Club
on Tuesday 8 April 2008.
A mixed year of league results
was reported - the fixtures are not completed as yet - but
the 'A' Team look likely to stay in Division 1, the 'B' Team to finish
in the top 4 in Division 3 but the 'C' team struggling to stay
in Division 4.
The proposed EBU membership strategy was summarised by
the chairman and in general members felt that neither they nor the
club would gain anything by the changes.
Trophies and prizes were presented
for the Club Cup & Toon Cup competitions.
The Club subscriptions
to remain at £6 but table money to increase by 50p at Countesthorpe
with the table money at Blaby Bowling club to be reviewed when the
rental for the extended premises is known.
The only change in the club officers for
the coming year is with Roger Wharmby standing down
after 3 years as 'C' Team Captain - a volunteer is required for
this office.
Neil Beasley and John Arnold were appointed as Hon. Life
Members of the club.
CAMBRIDGE WEEK-END 2008

bridge players and 3 non-bridge playing family enjoyed excellent
food and convivial bridge at the annual weekend away. This
year we visited a new venue at the Gonville Hotel in Cambridge.
The event was excellently organised by Doreen &
John Arnold and our chairman Dave Pollard.
Four
sessions of bridge were played and the prize winners
were as follows:-

members attended the 61st AGM of the Club
on Tuesday 10 April 2007.
A good year of league results
was reported with the 'A' Team winning Division
2 , the 'B' Team 4th in Division 3 and 'C' team 4th in Division
4.
Trophies and prizes were presented
for the Club Cup & Toon Cup competitions.
All club subscriptions
and table money will remain as at present.
Several changes took place in the
club officers for the coming year with John
Arnold standing down after 11 years as Chairman. Dave Pollard
replaces him as Chairman with Peter Nuttall taking over as 'A' team
captain & John Arnold replacing Neil Beasley as 'B' team captain.

weekend away. This year we returned to the Three Counties Hotel in
Hereford.
